Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a former physician now faces charges for performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
