Jurgen Klopp states a return to coach Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who left Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club is something that could happen. Klopp, after a transformative nine-year spell which brought a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, currently occupies roles as head of global soccer for Red Bull and providing guidance for the DFL.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won the Premier League last season, but many fans holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the notion that he may eventually return. During an extensive chat, he explained to his interviewer: “I stated I won't manage any other side in England. Therefore if then it’s Liverpool...absolutely. It's plausible.”

“Being 58, so the choice could be mine in a few years, I don’t know. Is a decision required immediately? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I'll wait and observe what lies ahead.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Pressed on what circumstances would have to unfold to tempt his return to the touchline, he confessed he isn't eager toward coming back. “I'm not entirely sure, I enjoy my current role,” he said. “I don't crave being a coach; I avoid standing in the rain through long matches; No need for media briefings repeatedly each week or doing numerous chats a week.

“No nostalgia for the changing area per se, however, dining out with the players talking freely, that’s nice. With many victories thus frequently great spirits around the place. I still have the captain's chuckle in my ear as an instance.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly for his successor, crediting him for the adjustments that won the league in the previous season. Liverpool have lost four in a row in every contest after a summer spending spree, yet he dismissed the notion that it might signal a decline.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker like Florian Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. The French striker, incredible player. This is a well-built thoughtfully assembled roster. No need for concern over the club, they will be fine.”

Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally regarding the passing of Diogo Jota, whom he brought in during his tenure, and the effect at the club. Jota died tragically in a road accident with his brother in July.

“How do you replace a person like him? It goes beyond his footballing ability, it's his character. I struggle to conceive the dressing room missing him. I find it difficult to discuss on this topic. A profound tragedy for his teammates also. Nobody at Liverpool might employ it for poor performances though it's a fact. You walk in a dressing room where he was omnipresent. Handling this emotionally is challenging. Impossible.”
