Fresh particulars have surfaced about the untimely deaths of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

The Initial Report

As detailed in an account citing a person close to the family, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the residence. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

After gaining access to the home, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Another individual who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Following this, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Developments

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, including the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently being held and is ineligible for bail.

Disputed Reports

The person close to the family challenged several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

Furthermore pushed back against published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "worried" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
