Passionate fans of the pop star are urging that a person who breached a barrier and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be detained or deported from Singapore.

A viral footage shows the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside photographers and lunging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a promenade flanked by supporters.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being taken in", though legal records revealed that he was due to be present on the following morning. It is not clear if he was formally accused.

History of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a performance. His Instagram profile contains recordings of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney performance in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last winter.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," commented an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over Grande's Past Trauma

Numerous fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed dealing with PTSD after a devastating incident at the end of her 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented one more response on Instagram.

Some fans also criticised guards at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while others requested social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In videos circulating online, Grande seemed shocked when she was touched by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Hundreds of Singapore supporters had lined up to see the cast of Wicked

Hundreds of fans had congregated in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including several who had waited for as long as many hours before it began.

The motion picture, to be launched on 21 November, is the sequel of a dual adaptation of the popular Broadway and West End musical Wicked, which centers on the unexpected bond between two distinct characters.

The show itself is a derivative of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a light pink glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.

They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of last year in the UK, and scored a dozen Academy Award nods, securing a pair for excellent wardrobe and production design.
