The British government is ready to advance with employing the entire amount of frozen Russian holdings to aid the Ukrainian war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the heads of state of the Britain, France, and Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to come to the table.

They further noted that the decision would be executed in tight collaboration with the America.

United Kingdom sanctions have blocked over £25bn of Russia's funds since Russia initiated its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, previously, funds sent to Ukraine using Russian funds had only been drawn from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were aligned in their aim to push forward toward using the total worth of the immobilized Russia's state assets to conclude the conflict.

He noted that further measures soon would heighten the tension on Russia.

This declaration is subsequent to European Union representatives gathered in Copenhagen previously to debate using immobilized Russia's assets for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to Ukraine.

Recently, President Donald Trump urged G7 allies to confiscate or utilize seized Russian funds, as reported by news outlets.

The worth of seized Russian holdings in the EU is estimated to be almost €211bn.

The Russian government launched widespread missile and drone strikes throughout Ukraine on Friday, causing power cuts in many areas of the capital city, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Two people were killed and a minimum of 20 people were wounded in the assault, the Ukrainian government stated.

In a message on social media subsequent to the strike, Zelensky wrote that the premeditated assault focused on non-military and power facilities.

"What is required is not empty words but firm measures - from the United States, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in supplying defense mechanisms and enforcing restrictions," he stated.
