The visionary game developer, who helped create the globally famous video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The renowned industry figure died after his automobile collided and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, as reported by.

"This is a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and everyone impacted by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
